The name Reiki comes from two Japanese words namely Rei and Ki. When both of these words are combined, they form a name for one of the most effective healing therapies. Basically, it is a healing energy that is non-physical and that that is guided by a higher intelligence or guided spiritually by life force energy.
The source of this energy comes from a the life energy that flows through and around an individual and not from the functional condition of organs and tissues of the body. It is this life force that animates the tissues and organs found in the body since it flows through them. If this flow of life energy is disrupted, then physical tissues and organs of the body will be affected adversely. It is therefore the disruption of this life force that brings about illness.
One attribute of this life force, also known as Ki is that it responds to the thoughts and feelings of the individual. It will either flow strongly or weakly depending on the thoughts and feelings of the individual. Negative thoughts and feelings are the main cause of disruption of the normal flow of Ki in the body. Here is where Reiki comes in.
The healing therapy focuses on maximizing the flow of Ki though the various vital parts of the body. Through this therapy, most of the body’s issues can be solved by ensuring that you have positive thoughts and feelings. The mind exists not only in the brain but also in other parts of the body. This is due to the network of nerves that extends to every single organ.
Due to this, negative thoughts are not only restricted to the brain. They are transferred to other organs body and as a result, restrict the flow of Ki in them. This as a result leads to poor functioning of these organs and if these negative thoughts are not eliminated, an illness may develop.
